Sharnbrook Academy Principal September 2019
8th March 2019
Dear Parent / Carer,
I hope you are well and that your child is enjoying a successful term at Sharnbrook Academy.
I wanted to write to you today to update you on the recruitment process regarding the Academy’s new Principal, and with some very positive news. We are delighted to confirm that we have appointed Clare Raku, who will take up the post at the start of the new academic year.
As you will know, Peter Rattu has decided that this will be his final year at Sharnbrook Academy after 25 years with us. Peter has been a superb leader of the school, instrumental in delivering remarkable success across the Academy and achieving superb academic results while overseeing the change to reformed GCSEs and the new grading system. We will miss him and I know you will join me in wishing him well in his future endeavours.
I have every confidence that Clare will do a similarly excellent job. She joins us from her current role of Head of School at Christopher Hatton Academy in Northamptonshire, which is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. She previously filled a number of other senior posts at the school, including as Vice Principal for Pastoral Standards, when she transformed student engagement at the academy, in further evidence of the wealth of experience she will bring to our academy.
I know that you will join me, the staff, and Local Governing Body at Sharnbrook Academy and Sharnbrook Academy Federation as a whole, in giving Clare a warm welcome and that you will support her as she seeks to build on the fantastic work that goes on in the school every day.
On that note, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support. Sharnbrook Academy Federation is committed to providing an outstanding education for all our students, putting their progress at the heart of everything we do, and Sharnbrook Academy embodies that. Schools can only be successful when everyone plays their part and it is a team effort – staff, students and parents. We are so proud of the successes that the young people at Sharnbrook Academy achieve and you are of course instrumental in that.
I know that Clare is really looking forward to getting started.
As ever, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Yours sincerely,Iain DenningExecutive PrincipalSharnbrook Academy Federation
