Results and destinations

We have had another great set of A level results this year!

We are delighted that:

  • 51.5% of our entire year 13 cohort gained one or more A*- A;
  • we achieved a 98.8% pass rate;
  • 73.6% of our exams were awarded A*-C grades;
  • a very impressive 26.1% were graded at A* or A;
  • 23 of our students attained 3 or more of these very highest grades;
  • of those entered for three A levels in Y13, 96.2% gained an A* - E in all three.

 Results like these can only come from the incredible hard work and dedication of both our students and our staff, as well as the huge support we know that our parents provide. We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to all concerned for yet another year of success at Sharnbrook Sixth Form.

Destinations

Getting a great set of results is important, but succeeding in moving on to other/higher education, employment or training is just as crucial.

Government data for 2014 (which is lagged by two years as it only counts education, employment or training that is sustained in the year after leaving the sixth form), confirms that Sharnbrook students do very well:

  • 94% continued to sustained education, employment or training (national average 88%).
  • 68% went on to higher education (national average 48%); of those who fully completed their applications for HE, 98% were successful in 2014.

2016 destinations

In 2016, our internal data currently shows that 93% of our students went on to full time other/higher education, employment or training at the end of the sixth form.
