FINANCIAL
STUDIES: CeFS (AS equivalent)
Diploma
(A2 equivalent)
Over the next few years you will need to make important decisions about
how you manage your money. You may have debts and savings, need insurance for
your car, mobile phone, yourself, or a pension so you can be secure when you
retire.
Certificate in Financial Studies is a qualification that you can
take that will improve your understanding of financial matters. It applies not just for people who want a
career in financial services; it is for anyone who wants to make
better-informed choices when managing their money. It is also part of the raft of qualifications
set by the Institute
of Financial Services.
It carries full UCAS points and is recognised by
universities. It is possible to continue
to A2 with the Diploma.

FOOD,
NUTRITION AND HEALTH AS/A2
You will study all
aspects of nutrition in relation to the health of the family and society. A large part of the course is based on the
scientific and nutritional aspects of food, which will include both scientific
and practical food investigation. It is
not necessary for you to have studied Food and Nutrition or Catering at GCSE
but an interest in food, nutrition and health would be an advantage. You need to be aware that there will be
additional costs for this course as the work we do will require you to use food
products and ingredients.

FRENCH AS/A2
During the two years students will
cover a variety of contemporary topics with the emphasis placed on oral work,
resulting in students being able to speak confidently about all aspects of life
in French speaking countries. Year 12
students are encouraged to participate in the French work experience trip. Material is taken from a variety of authentic
resources and there is also exposure to aspects of modern French
literature. Students are also encouraged
to participate in trips to see films or plays in the foreign language and to
explore, as widely as possible, all aspects of French culture.
