WELCOME TO SUSA

This parents’ association has been running almost since the school first opened some 30 years ago.  During that time funds raised have provided TVs, videos, equipment for various departments including outdoor education and more recently provided four 42” TVs for the students’ dining areas and a new school mini bus.   As you can appreciate the aim of the association is to provide the extras for the students that will enhance their time at this school.

As an upper school, we appreciate that by the time your child reaches this school you will have had your fill of jumble sales, plant sales and summer fairs!  We, therefore, limit the number of fund raising events that we organise to three or four a year.  These include the very successful Jazz Art BBQ held in the summer to celebrate the art work of our students.  We have also extended the invitation to our lower schools and ran an art competition for students from Years 3 & 4.

Our biggest fund raising event is our Christmas Fair which this year was held on Sunday November 29th. We had over 70 stalls in total, offering a range of goods from jewellery, craft work, wood products and health products. We also had a dedicated children’s area with Santa’s grotto, bran tub, pet’s corner and much more.  We run a Christmas Raffle with some fantastic prizes and encourage the students to sell as many tickets as possible.  Prizes have been awarded to Tutor groups and to the student who sold the most raffle tickets.

We will be holding the Annual SUSA quiz night in May 2010.  Details will be posted on this website nearer the time.  The evening is open to all parents and non-parents as well as staff at Sharnbrook.  Watch this space for details of entering your team.

Another source of fundraising is through the SUSA 200 Club. This was introduced several years ago and ran successfully as a prize-winning fund raising activity.  For more details and to download a form, please visit the link on the right hand side.
