Physical Education

The Physical Education Department is located in the Sports Centre. The PE facilities include a state of the art fitness suite with Technogym equipment, an aerobics studio, 2 community changing rooms (including saunas) and 4 further changing rooms for use during school time, a sports hall,  hard court areas & a floodlit astro turf pitch. The students realise how fortunate they are having such a wide range of activities and facilities available to them. One popular activity for them is sitting down in the changing rooms now, at the end of a cold lesson, making the most of the under floor heating!!

The PE department runs a full and varied programme of activities and achieves success at local as well as national level in some sports. This is reported in the annual 'On The Rostrum' PE Dept Magazine produced in July each year which celebrates the sporting achievement of our students.

The department also works closely Kay Garrod, the Partnership Development Manager for the North Bedfordshire Learning Community 7 School Sports Coordinator Partnership. Since September 2005, Ms K Price has had the responsibility for the SSCO role and works closely with members of staff within our feeder middle schools to ensure a smooth transition for Yr 8 students.
